The only bad thing about these is how easy they are! The original recipe comes with the following caveat:
Warning – Highly Addictive

1 sleeve unsalted* soda crackers
1/2 pound butter
1 cup brown sugar (tightly packed)
1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips
*I have used salted crackers with great success – I suggest salted crackers if you’re using unsalted butted, and vice versa.
Preheat oven to 325°.
Grease bottom and sides of cookie sheet – you’ll definitely need a cookie sheet with sides. Cover bottom of cookie sheet with one layer of soda crackers.
Boil together butter and brown sugar in a pot over medium-high heat to a thick yellow-brown syrup. Pour syrup over crackers, spread evenly and bake for 12 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. As the chocolate chips melt, spread/swirl with knife or spatula to cover the whole sheet.
Refrigerate for 2 hours and then break into chunks. Store at room temperature in an airtight container (assuming there’s anything left to store).
