Full of calories, and not cheap either, these are definitely not for the faint-hearted. They are, however, very, very, very nice. Enjoy – just not too many at once.
1 lb 4 oz plain chocolate
8 oz butter
2 Tbsp fresh, strong, coffee (optional)
3 oz self-raising flour
1/4 tsp salt
6 oz walnuts
1 tsp vanilla essence.
Set aside 8 oz chocolate, and chop into small pieces.
Melt chocolate and butter.
Mix eggs, coffee and sugar until smooth, then gradually beat in chocolate.
Fold in flour, salt, walnuts, vanilla and the chopped chocolate.
Turn into a lined tin about 12″ by 8″.
Bake at 190 degrees C
