Sary asked what had happened to the club results from September 1. They are still here – what happens is after a while the listings ‘roll’ off the front page. To see older results, check out the link to the ‘archives’ on the right of the page near the bottom.
Anagram to solve was ADEEEFNY, which three people actually solved!

Results Scoresheet

Check out the scoresheet scan – the first use of the nice new grid provided by Kate Doe.
This was a club tournament – looking at the sheet it seems the division winners were (A) David Boys, (B) Barbara Bultz and (C) Gabriel Shalom. Congrats!

Results Month-End Stats

Thanks to Sary for looking after things this week. There was no club tournament because Bernard went to see the last ever home game of the Montreal Expos!
Only Month-End stats are shown because there has only been one month this ‘year’ (September through August).

This was the first club of the new season (2004-2005), and we started with what might be record attendance. Certainly the most for a long time on a ‘regular’ club night (we’ve had big crowds to celebrate when someone in our club has a top three finish at the World Championship – which has happened more often than you might imagine)!

What was wrong with the old page?

Our club’s web page has a new look. Why?
For one thing, the old page had a ‘news’ section which was always embarrasingly out of date. Currently it announces that David Boys is the ‘New Canadian Scrabble Champion’ – nine months after the fact.
This new format is known as a ‘blog’. It makes it easy to add weekly entries which will eventually roll off the front page but remain accessible for as long as we care to keep them. It also allows people to add comments to any entry if they wish.
