{"id":231,"date":"2004-10-16T10:30:09","date_gmt":"2004-10-16T10:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/34.95.25.178\/maggie\/2004\/10\/16\/the_path_to_limbo\/"},"modified":"2004-10-16T10:30:09","modified_gmt":"2004-10-16T10:30:09","slug":"the_path_to_limbo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.golding.ca\/maggie\/2004\/10\/16\/the_path_to_limbo\/","title":{"rendered":"The path to limbo:"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1 &#8211; buy a refurbished <a href=\"http:\/\/www.golding.ca\/maggie\/archives\/000403.html\">emachines<\/a> laptop through an e-bay store.<br \/>\n2 &#8211; use said laptop happily for about 7 months.<br \/>\n3 &#8211; bring laptop to recommended repair shop because display is increasingly not actually displaying anything.<br \/>\n4 &#8211; receive call from friendly technician at said repair shop, who has very quickly diagnosed the problem (the video cable looks like it&#8217;s been chewed by deranged rats) and says it should take a couple of days to get the part, and a couple of minutes to fix the machine.<br \/>\n5 &#8211; get another call from same technician, albeit in a less friendly mood, who has discovered that the only place from which anyone can get the part is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.golding.ca\/maggie\/archives\/000403.html\">Future Shop<\/a>.
