Yesterday's temperature, with the windchill. was -40. And remember, folks, that's -40 C, and -40 F.
Today's forecast high is -12 C. Today's forecast high for other places, like, oh, I dunno, Tucson, is 20 C, or 68 F.
Merry Christmas, Bruce!

Let's both try to remember this when it is July and I'm outside working in 115 F.
In 1977 the kids and I made a grand tour of the Southwest in our RV. We checked out the ruins at Casa Grande, then headed for San Diego, intending to stop for the night at Painted Rocks state park in Arizona, way in the middle of the real desert. We got there and couldn't figure out why this lovely park was deserted. We were completely alone. Then we stepped outside, into the oven. It was 122 F.
We left.

Uhhh, Maggie?
-40 is the same whether C or F. That's pretty much exactly the temp where the 2 scales meet.
Besides, at that point, which scale used is pretty academic. It's just too fricken cold!!!!

Yes, that was my point about "And remember, folks, that's -40 C, and -40 F", since, as you point out, -40 is the only point where the two scales read the same.
Definitely too cold.

Crap... sorry Maggie. My eyes read -40C, not -40F.
And it's still too cold ;)
